Guided Walking Tours

Our tours combine history, current events, and personal experiences to highlight daily life in Harrisburg.

  • Tours are approximately 1 mile over 90 minutes. Exact time depends on walking pace and can vary from 1-2 hours.

We look at power structures, natural disasters, funny moments, and stories that move us. We give tips on how to continue exploring. Above all, our tours are interactive - we want to hear your stories and experiences to help you connect with Harrisburg today.

What Makes a City Beautiful? is our tour of downtown to midtown. We discuss indigenous groups, European settlement, development of the city, creation of the State Capitol, life in the first black and multiethnic neighborhood, the City Beautiful movement, and changes to the city over the past hundred years. We look at legacies of politics, ethnic tensions, and daily life in shaping the city.
Starting location: Front St & Walnut St
    Ending location: Broad St Market
option to adjust start/end locations with guide.
